How To Get Instanly In The State Of Flow

May 11, 2008 · Filed Under Keeping It Simple, The Flow

Flow is the ultimate experience. Flow is where you do everything effortlessly. How is it achieved? Can you force yourself into the flow? Not by a longshot!

What is the opposite of being in the flow? Of course – being in your own head with no way to go. Flow means surrendering your ego, and lack of flow means that the ego is controlling you.

In this case, there is no way for you to force anything, because this will always be the job of the ego. What you can do, is to direct your attention. The right way is in your head, you are just not conscious of it. Simply start acting as if you are in the flow.

What will happen after that is that you’ll fail miserably. You’ll be pathetic – but should you care? Not at all. This is the right way. Once you start doing this, it is inevitable that soon something in your head will click, and you will get in that state of flow again.

The ego can tell you, that you are embarassing yourself, but that’s an illusion. As long as you ignore it, you’ll be on the right track. If you couldn’t care less about what the others think of you, again – you are on the right track. Sounds counter-intuitive – but as in most cases this is how things should be.
